Riders are required to be financial members of Pony Club Australia or a local Pony Club.

Our Pony Club Riding Centre program is run in accordance with Pony Club Australia guidelines and principles.

Pony Club Australia is the national governing body of Pony Club in Australia. Its Members are all of the state and territory Pony Club Associations and all individual Pony Club members.

Pony Club Australia is flourishing – with over 800 active Clubs and over 40,000 members making Pony Club the largest equestrian organisation in Australia. Our aims and objectives include:


  • Encouraging people to enjoy all kinds of sport and pleasure connected with horses and riding.
  • Providing instruction in riding and horsemanship and instilling in young people a love of their horses, a sense of responsibility and acceptance of the responsibility for the proper care of their animals.
  • Promoting the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.

Is there an age minimum/limit?

In late 2019, Pony Club Australia introduced Centre Membership for riders aged from 5 to 80 who don’t have their own horse.

Centre Members can ride a trained school horses at one of our Pony Club Accredited Centres

Membership for Pony Club Australia is $110

Each training day the cost will vary depending on the activity, your training day will include:

The use of riding school horses

Supervised instruction

Interactive learning and games

All learning is conducted in a group setting and participants are expected to adhere to our code of conduct policy at all times.

All training days are to be booked through the Kings Park Equestrian Website and paid prior to arrival on the day.

Do I need to bring my own horse?

No you don't! We have a great team of horses and ponies here!  If you would like to bring your own horse you can, please contact the centre for more information.

Do you supply riding equipment?

No, whilst we carry a small quantity of helmets on site, you are to provide your own riding attire including:

Riding Pants
Riding Boots
Sun safe shirt
Jumper/Rain Coat
Sun Hat

Back Protector (optional)

Water Bottle

Do Parents and Guardians need to stay for the session?

Yes they do, all participants under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian remain with them.  If you would like to leave your child unattended please seek permission prior to the day.

How long does the day go for?

Pony Club days are for 3 hours from 9:00am to 12:00 midday.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to 9:00am,

A typical day includes:

8:40am Gather on foot and form troops

9:00am Session 1

10:15am Morning Tea (provided)

10:30 Session 2

12:00 Finish

What happens if it is raining?

We have lots of wet weather alternatives to keep everyone entertained and enjoying the Pony Club experience.  Unless we have severe weather our days will proceed regardless of rain.
